About Me

Hello! My name is Ettienne, I am a UX/UI designer with a diverse background. I come from a rich heritage with Trinidadian and Italian roots, and I was born and raised in the vibrant city of New York. The world of arts, particularly music, has played a significant role in my life. I am not only a violinist but also a classically trained pianist. My musical journey has equipped me with a valuable skill set I leverage daily.

Being a musician has instilled in me the importance of time management and the ability to collaborate effectively, anticipating the needs of fellow musicians. These qualities translate seamlessly into my UX/UI Designer role, where clear communication and teamwork are paramount. I apply precision and coordination to my design projects and my orchestral performances.

My previous work experiences spanned various sectors, including restaurants, banks, and administrative offices. In these roles, I honed problem-solving, communication, and organization skills. As a designer, communicating swiftly and clearly with clients and team members is essential. Throughout each phase of the design process, I employ my problem-solving skills to address user pain points. My organizational prowess ensures that wireframe iterations are easily understandable for clients, designers, developers, and stakeholders. These are just a few examples of how I apply my transferable skills to the design field.

I am pursuing a degree in psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. However, I realized that a career in psychology alone couldn't satisfy my need for creativity and motivation. This realization led me to explore professions that would offer financial stability while allowing me to channel my creative energy. This journey ultimately brought me to the exciting UX/UI Design.
